Get Clients Without Chasing Referrals

If you’ve ever felt like your client flow is unpredictable. I’ve got something important I need to share with you. When I first started my business, I relied heavily on referrals. It felt easy, right? I’d deliver great results, and clients would naturally come to me. But eventually, the referrals slowed down. I waited for them to pick back up, but they didn’t.

And honestly? At first, it threw me off. I felt like I was doing all the right things, but I wasn’t seeing the results I had come to expect. It was frustrating—like I had lost control over how my business was growing. I started questioning everything I knew about my business and, honestly, about myself as a business owner.

That’s when I realized something important: I couldn’t wait for clients to come to me. I needed a plan to actively attract them. That realization changed everything for me. And I don’t want you to go through that same frustration.

You can’t just wait around for referrals to keep your business going. You need to build a strategy that helps you consistently attract clients who are ready to work with you—on your terms.

That’s why I’m inviting you to my FREE training: From Referrals to Reliable Clients. If you’re tired of hoping the next client will show up, this is for you. You know me… I want to get you started immediately to get the momentum going. Below is how YOU can start that shift today… after reading this.

Here’s how you can start shifting things today:

✔️ Get clear on WHO you want to work with. I know it’s tempting to try and reach everyone, but narrowing your focus and speaking directly to your ideal clients makes all the difference. So, who lights you up? Who do you want to attract?

Example: Let’s say you’re a graphic designer. Instead of saying, ‘I work with anyone who needs design work,’ get specific! You may love working with wellness coaches or local small businesses. Now you can say, ‘I help wellness coaches create branding that feels as authentic as their services,’ or ‘I help small businesses establish a professional brand presence online.

✔️ Make it ridiculously easy for people to work with you. When someone lands on your website or sees your content, can they immediately tell you what you do and how to hire you? If they’re confused or unsure, they’ll bounce. Let’s fix that.

Example: Go to your website or social media right now and ask yourself, ‘Could someone tell you exactly what I do and how to work with me in 10 seconds?’ If not, simplify it. For example, if you’re a copywriter, your homepage could clearly state, ‘I write website copy for coaches who want to sell with words that connect.’ And then give them one clear call to action like, ‘Book a Call’ or ‘Start Working with Me Today.’

✔️ Stop waiting and start ASKING. Our next client might already be in your network. So, when was the last time you directly invited someone to work with you? If the answer isn’t recently, let’s ensure that changes.

Example: If you haven’t asked lately, here’s a quick script: Hey [Name], I’ve been working on [what you offer], and I thought of you because it could benefit your business. Would you be open to a quick chat to see if it’s a good fit?’ Simple but powerful, it opens the door without being pushy, and you’ll be surprised how many people respond positively when you ask directly!
