When I first started my business, the idea of networking made me physically sick. My stomach was in knots, and it felt like the moment I opened my mouth, I knew I would be sick. My mind was racing with what to say—and what not to say.
I was terrified of sounding salesy, so I’d hold back… but then I’d overcompensate and talk too much because I was so nervous. Every time I left an event; I’d replay everything in my head during the drive back to the office:
“Did I say the wrong thing?”
“Was I awkward?”
“Did I talk too much?”
But here’s the thing—I knew I had to face that discomfort if I wanted this business to grow. I had to show up. And not just once. I had to keep showing up, even when I felt shaky or unsure.
Over time, I realized that visibility wasn’t about perfection, it was about being present, real, and consistent. This can help you, too.
Let’s talk about visibility—getting your name in front of the right people so they know you exist.
You could be amazing at what you do, but if the right people don’t see you, they can’t hire you. And I know that just the word “visibility” can feel intimidating and overwhelming.
When business owners hear this, they often think it means:
- Spending all day online
- Attending every networking event
- Constantly creating, posting or recording videos to keep up
Visibility that Works (and Doesn’t Drain You)
Here’s what I want you to remember:
Visibility isn’t about being everywhere. It’s about being in the right places consistently.
So, if you’ve been burning out trying to do all the things… breathe. Let’s simplify.
Here’s how to show up in a way that feels good and gets results:
✅ Choose 1–2 platforms that align with your strengths.
If you love writing, focus on a blog or LinkedIn.
Prefer video? Youtube, Instagram or TikTok might be your space.
✅ Consistency matters more than quantity.
You don’t need to post daily. Showing up 3–5 times a week is enough to build momentum and trust and add from there.
✅ Speak directly to your audience’s struggles and desired transformation. When you can name what’s keeping them stuck and offer a clear next step, you position yourself as someone who truly understands and can help.
You don’t have to sacrifice your energy or time to build real visibility.
Focus on making intentional, authentic connections where your people are already hanging out. That’s how you get in front of the right people at the right time without losing yourself.
A Quick Script to Get You Started:
“Have you ever struggled with [insert pain point]? You’re not alone. Here’s one small shift that can help [insert shift of transformation].”
Use this to start real, —online or offline conversations. Visibility starts there.
Let’s Reflect:
Where do you feel most comfortable showing up?
Social media? A blog? Facebook groups? In-person networking, Events? Volunteering?

“Before joining the Business Momentum Blueprint, I felt all over the place and doing things I thought I should be doing because others were doing it. I felt nervous that my business would not last much longer. I had ideas but no structure—and I was constantly second-guessing myself. Working with Dawn has been a game-changer. She helped me simplify my marketing, clarify who I’m talking to, and start showing up consistently. Not to mention, I was able to hire two part-time employees to take care of some things on the back end of the business so I could show up in other places where I needed to. For the first time, I feel like I have a real plan—and I’m seeing results. This program gave me confidence and accountability I didn’t even realize I needed.”
