Attract Clients Before They Even Know They Need You

Happy New Year! 🌟🙌🏻

We’re diving straight into making 2026 a year with no gaps in momentum! I just did a training inside my business coaching group, and I wanted to share some simple, actionable steps you can take to keep your momentum steady all year long. It all started when I walked into Marshalls in the second week of December and saw Christmas already on clearance and Valentine’s Day items already stocked and ready for purchase.

As a marketer, I know exactly why Marshall’s was stocking Valentine’s Day in December. It wasn’t rushed or random. And it definitely wasn’t accidental.

Big retailers don’t “get ahead” they position themselves on purpose. They plan months in advance, study buying behavior, map customer timing, and make sure they’re visible before shoppers consciously start looking.

Still, seeing those Valentine’s displays this early stopped me, not because I didn’t understand the strategy, but because it’s the same place so many business owners get stuck.

They know planning ahead matters.

They understand consistency.

But when it’s time to act, they wait…

They wait for clarity.

They wait for confidence.

They wait for the moment to feel right.

And that waiting is exactly where momentum gets lost. That Marshall’s moment became the perfect reminder of what I teach my clients every day: momentum isn’t built by reacting, it’s built by anticipating. And the businesses that grow consistently are the ones willing to show up before their clients even realize they need them.

That’s what I want to help you do as we step into this new year.

Build Business Momentum: How to Attract Clients Before They Know They Need You

Momentum doesn’t start when clients are ready to buy. It starts when you decide to lead rather than wait.

Big retailers don’t decide in December to stock Valentine’s Day. They’ve already forecasted trends, analyzed past data, coordinated inventory, and aligned their messaging long before products hit the floor.

By the time customers start thinking about Valentine’s Day, the decision has already been made for them.

The same principle applies to your business or non profit whether you’re brick-and-mortar, online, or service-based.

That’s why it’s critical to be present before clients realize they have a need. To help you do that, here’s a simple framework you can use right now (you can watch the full 30 minute training in the micro learning below):

1. Map your key client moments

Think about when your clients start thinking about the problem you solve. Not when you want to sell, but when they are already primed.

2. Work backwards

Ask yourself: what do they need to see, hear, or experience before that key moment so saying yes feels easy?

3. Create small, consistent actions

This might look like emails, social posts, conversations, window displays, or workshops. Nothing complicated, just intentional and ordered.

Simple. Strategic. Predictable.

When you do this, you stop guessing. You stop scrambling. And momentum starts to compound.

As you step into this new year, I’ll leave you with one question: What is one moment in your business you could own before your clients even realize they need you? That’s where momentum begins.

Comment or send me a message. I would love to cheer you on!
